Why is my goldfish staying at the top of my fish tank?
Two weeks ago I bought 2 goldfish at walmart. They acted fine and after a week one started swimming to the top of the tank and it will just stay in the same spot and sometimes go to the bottom, but return after about a minute. My other goldfish died today, so maybe my other goldfish is sick too? Thank you for the help.
gold have what is called a swim bladder and on rare occasions the swim balder can pop thus the fish will start to float towards the top. My recommendation would be to go to your nearest fish store (store that only sells fish) and ask about to new goldfish. Another reason could be that they have ich a disease that is both common and deadly if not treated immediately. Ich most often occurs when the fish is kept under a lot of stress. Im really sorry about your fish but try next time to buy from an experienced fish retailer.
